Basic Application
- Wet hair thoroughly with warm water (opens cuticles for better product penetration)
- Dispense a walnut-sized amount (less for short hair, more for very long/thick hair)
- Apply to scalp first – this is where the magic happens
- Massage for 60-90 seconds using fingertips in circular motions
- Let it sit for 1-2 minutes while actives work
- Rinse thoroughly with cool water (seals cuticles, adds shine)
Advanced Technique: The Scalp-First Method
Why it matters: Volume starts at the root. Most people focus shampoo on lengths, but the scalp is where volumizing actives do their best work.
The approach:
- Concentrate product and massage time on the scalp
- Let the rinse-through handle the lengths
- Your hair gets clean either way, but this method maximizes volumizing benefits where they matter most
The Double Cleanse (For Product Buildup or Oily Scalps)
First cleanse: Quick wash to remove surface dirt and product
Second cleanse: Fuller massage with 2-minute contact time for active penetration
Most people only need one cleanse. But if you use a lot of styling products or have an oily scalp, the double cleanse makes sense.
Frequency
- Normal to dry hair: 2-3 times per week
- Oily hair/scalp: 3-4 times per week
- Daily exercisers: Daily is fine—the formula is gentle enough
