The Colour Protection Edit
Selected by Clare Devereux — Clinical Trichologist, Harley Street & Dublin
A three-product routine for colour-treated hair — gentle colour-safe cleansing, targeted protection, and a finishing mist that keeps your colour looking salon-fresh between appointments.
What this routine addresses
Colour that fades too quickly after your salon appointment.
Colour fades for two reasons: the pigment molecules wash out, and the cuticle that holds them in opens up. Most shampoos accelerate both. The Colour Saviour Shampoo is formulated to cleanse without stripping colour — wheat protein strengthens the cuticle layer, keeping pigment locked in longer.
Colour-treated hair that’s become dry and straw-like.
Colour processing opens the cuticle to deposit pigment. If that cuticle isn't smoothed and sealed afterwards, the hair becomes dry and rough. The Colour Saviour Conditioner with panthenol and wheat protein restores smoothness without weighing hair down — your colour looks better because the surface reflecting light is smooth.
Protecting your colour from heat, sun, and environmental damage.
Heat tools, sun exposure, and environmental pollution all accelerate colour fade and cuticle damage. The Keratin Glow Mist forms a lightweight protective film — red algae shields against daily aggression while keratin strengthens the shaft. Daily protection that carries between washes.
Wanting your colour to look as good on week four as week one.
Healthy colour starts with healthy hair. The vibrancy, shine, and depth of your colour depend on the condition of the hair underneath it. This routine maintains that condition daily — so every salon visit builds on a strong foundation rather than trying to compensate for damage.
Regular colour services that need consistent aftercare between appointments.
Highlights, balayage, full colour, toner refreshes — they all benefit from colour-specific aftercare. This isn't about the type of colour service. It's about giving colour-treated hair what it needs daily to maintain the result your colourist worked to create.
There may be a better starting point if
- Your colour-treated hair is significantly damaged — dry, breaking, porous. The Deep Repair Edit goes deeper than daily colour protection and addresses the structural damage that repeated colour services can cause
- Your scalp has become sensitive alongside your colour treatments. The Scalp Recovery Edit addresses the scalp first — and the Colour Saviour Conditioner is already in that Edit as the recommended pairing
- You don’t colour your hair and just want a good daily routine. The Everyday Healthy Hair Edit is the simpler foundation for natural hair
- You want maximum shine and editorial gloss rather than colour protection specifically. The Special Occasion Edit uses the Glass Effect range for that
- Your hair is thinning and you colour it. The Volume & Strength Edit may be a better primary routine, with colour protection as a secondary consideration
From Clare
Colour-treated hair needs different daily care from natural hair — and most people don’t realise how much their shampoo is working against their colour. A shampoo that cleanses too aggressively opens the cuticle and lets pigment escape. Within a few weeks, the vibrancy your colourist created has dulled, and the hair itself feels drier.
The Colour Saviour duo is formulated specifically for this. The shampoo cleanses without stripping colour — aloe, wheat protein, and bergamot keep the cuticle smooth and the pigment where it belongs. The conditioner seals and nourishes with panthenol and wheat protein — light enough not to weigh your colour down, effective enough that your hair feels genuinely different. And the Keratin Glow Mist finishes the routine with daily protection: keratin strengthens, red algae shields against heat and environment, and your colour keeps its shine and depth between salon visits. Three products, one purpose — making your colour last and look its best every day.
This Edit Includes
Colour Saviour Shampoo
with Organic Aloe, Wheat Protein & Bergamot
Colour-safe cleansing that keeps pigment where it belongs. Wheat protein strengthens the cuticle layer, reducing the wash-by-wash colour fade that most shampoos cause. Your colour stays vibrant longer.
400ml · Nut Free · Vegan
Colour Saviour Conditioner
with Panthenol, Wheat Protein & Lemon Peel Oil
Seals and nourishes colour-treated hair without heaviness. Panthenol penetrates the shaft for moisture from the inside, wheat protein reinforces the cuticle from the outside. Your colour looks richer because the hair carrying it is healthier.
370ml · Nut Free · Vegan
Keratin Glow Mist
with Red Algae, Hydrolyzed Keratin & Geranium
Daily protection for colour-treated hair. Red algae shields against heat and UV that accelerate fade. Keratin strengthens the shaft so colour holds. The finishing step that makes your colour look its best every day.

Begin with personalised guidance
Your colour history matters — how often you colour, what type of services you have, and the current condition of your hair all affect the right approach. A written assessment personalised to your situation can confirm this Edit is right or suggest whether your hair needs repair before colour protection.

The Experience
Citrus zest and slightly bitter grapefruit from the shampoo — clean and bright. The conditioner adds fresh citrus with herbal notes and a touch of sweetness. The mist closes with soft florals and vanilla. Together they smell like a salon that knows what it’s doing.
Your Routine
Three steps, four times a week. The same routine whether you coloured yesterday or three weeks ago — consistent protection is what makes the difference.
- Colour Saviour Shampoo (every wash day)
Apply to wet hair. Lather gently with fingertips, focusing on the scalp. The formula cleanses without opening the cuticle — so pigment stays locked in rather than washing out. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Hot water accelerates colour fade. - Colour Saviour Conditioner (every wash day — mid-lengths and ends)
Apply to mid-lengths and ends. Leave for one to two minutes. The panthenol and wheat protein smooth the cuticle and seal moisture in — smoother cuticle means better light reflection, which is where colour vibrancy lives. Rinse well. - Keratin Glow Mist (every wash day + non-wash days)
Towel-dry gently, then mist through mid-lengths and ends. The red algae film shields against heat and environmental damage that accelerate fade. On non-wash days, use on dry hair to refresh shine and maintain protection.
After a fresh colour appointment: wait at least 24–48 hours before your first wash. This gives the cuticle time to close fully and the colour to set. When you do wash, start with this routine from day one.
Common Questions
Does this work for highlights and balayage, not just full colour?
Yes — highlights, balayage, full colour, toners, gloss treatments. Any chemical colour service benefits from colour-specific aftercare. The routine protects the cuticle integrity that all colour services depend on, regardless of the technique.
What if my colour-treated hair is also damaged?
If your colour-treated hair is significantly damaged — dry, breaking, porous — you may need the Deep Repair Edit first. Once the structural damage is addressed, transition to this Colour Protection routine for ongoing maintenance. The two Edits work as a sequence: repair first, protect after.
How quickly will I notice a difference in colour longevity?
Most clients notice their colour holding better within the first two to three weeks — less brassiness, more vibrancy, better shine between appointments. The mist's daily protection is cumulative, so the longer you use the routine, the better the results compound.
This is enough. Three products, consistent use, and your colour works harder for longer. The investment you make at the salon deserves daily care that protects it — not products that wash it away.
From the Studio Notes
If your colour-treated hair is also shedding, Clare has written about the difference between shedding and breakage — colour damage typically causes breakage (snapping along the shaft) rather than shedding (falling from the root). Understanding which one you’re experiencing changes the response entirely.
